Christians believe that marriage is the manifestation of the union of two separated “one”s. In Genesis, the Bible explicitly states that Eve was made out of one of Adam’s ribs. Hence, a marriage, in which a man and a woman establish a permanent relationship with each other, is the return of the “rib” to the “body” (kinda like transplant surgery).
