If you even considered looking at this ridicules list of nonsense, you fail (don’t worry about that, life is full of stress. Just keep trying). Simply by looking at these two big iconic architecture, it is not hard at all for a person with minimum global awareness to tell that it is the great city of Shanghai. Indeed, it is great, because it will host EXPO 2010.
What is EXPO? Here’s a quick excerpt from Wikipeida:
Universal Exposition or Expo (short for “exposition”, and also known as World Fair and World’s Fair) is the name given to various large public exhibitions held since the mid-19th century. They are the third largest event in the world in terms of economic and cultural impact, after the FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games.
Where is it going to be? Duh, Shanghai.
When? May 1, 2010 - Oct 31, 2010
Why? Same reason for which you were so psyched up by the Olympics.
As a tribute to this great city, I have collected a range of photos taken in Shanghai. In addition to that, I also discovered a piece of very fascinating music, called Miss Shanghai, by The Shanghai Restoration Project. Hope these will at the least serve as a stimuli to make you want to visit and spend money in this metropolis.
